Revelation: The Reward
Revelation: Justification by Faith
The Reward
17 For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living springs of water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
The 144,000 will go through the great tribulation. But they will overcome and receive the prize. Then that tribulation will have proven to be worth it:
Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed to us.
Then there will be no more hunger or thirst. No scorching heat, and even the grief we may have will eventually fade away with this glory.
It will be as Isaiah says:
Isaiah 49:8 Thus says the LORD:
In the time of favor I have answered you,
and in the day of salvation I have helped you.
I will protect you and give you as a covenant to the people,
to restore the earth,
to cause the desolate inheritances to be received,
9 to say to the captives, “Go forth!”
to those who are in darkness, “Appear!”
On the roads they will pasture,
and on all bare heights will be their grazing lands.
10 They shall not hunger nor thirst,
neither heat nor sun shall strike them,
for He who has mercy on them will lead them,
and by springs of water will He guide them gently.
11 I will make all My mountains a road,
and My highways will be elevated.
12 Behold, these shall come from afar:
look! Those from the north and the west,
and those from the land of Sinim.
13 Rejoice, O heavens, and be glad, O earth!
Break out into singing, O mountains!
For the LORD has comforted His people,
and will have mercy on His afflicted.
Then we will finally come to New Jerusalem. Zion will then be inhabited. We will finally go into that heavenly city for every people and nation.
The psalmist says:
Psalm 126:4 LORD, restore our captivity,
like streams in the South.
5 Those who sow in tears
will reap with joyful shouting.
Psalm 116:7 Return to your rest, my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you.
8 Yes, the LORD has delivered my soul from death,
my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
Yes, this is how the 144,000 will be.
